Alright, alright. It was last call at the end of yesterday’s E3, and we seemingly all jumped into the sack with PlayStation 4. But now it’s morning, and the harsh light of day is streaming into our windows. Is it still the same system we went home with last night?

Well, as the Dude would say “new information has come to light, man!”

Looks like Sony CEO (and instant nerd messiah) Jack Tretton said earlier, that “…the DRM decision for third-party games will be up to publishers.“

That’s kind of a far cry from his “PS4 will impose no restrictions on used or lent games.”

Which pretty much puts PS4 back in Microsoft’s realm, insofar as used titles.

Also worth a mention, the Xbox ONE comes with the Kinect 2.0, while the PlayStation 4 has the camera listed as a peripheral for $59. Still no word on the price of a second PS4 controller, too.

E3: Oh yeah, and the PS4 is $399

During the address, President and CEO of Sony Entertainment, Jack Tretton said

“We at Sony believe that when someone buys a disc-based game, they have the right to trade the game in at retail, sell it to another person, lend it to a friend or keep it forever. And in addition, disc-based PS4 games don’t need to be connected online to play, or for any type of authentication.”

That was followed by a roaring chant of SONY SONY SONY from attendees.

Tretton then confirmed that the PS4 would accept PS Plus cross platform, linking PS3, PS4 and Vita.

“For less than $5 per month, subscribers will get discounted and free games, cloud saves, automatic updates, early beta access, instant game collection and immersive PS4 online multiplayer content.”

Oh, and PS Plus members with PS4 systems will immediately get a free copy of DriveClub, Sony’s answer to Forza, during their first year. Plus members will also receive Don’t Starve, Outlast and Secret Poncho during the first year, as well as a new free game every month.

Your move, Microsoft.

E3: PS4 embraces indie community by debuting exclusive content

E3: Grand Theft Auto V has a PS3 mega-bundle

Sony’s not done trying to press the PS3 into customer’s hands…even in the wake of announcing the PS4. Hence, there will be a $299 bundle, featuring a 500GB HD, Blu-Ray copy of Grand Theft Auto V, and a custom-made, limited edition GTAV Pulse headset, with a special GTA V soundscape profile.

For $299, that’s ridiculously good deal. Y’know, if you’re not saving up for a PS4.

E3: Tom Clancy’s The Division looks like a multiplayer fiesta

What would happen if someone infected millions of dollar bills with a supervirus? A supervirus that jumps from paper to human to food, and incubates in less than 24 hours? And what if they decided to release said supervirus on Black Friday? That’s the concept behind Ubisoft’s newest IP.

Tom Clancy’s: The Division takes place in New York City, and will pit you against AI, raid scenarios and PvP situations.

The Division is rated M, and is due out in 2014 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

E3: Watch_Dogs looks like the second coming.

Watch_Dogs looks like the hottest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s an open-world title, with an emphasis on technological vigilantism.

E3: Ubisoft’s The Crew will give racers a run for their money…

Yes, hot on the heels of the Forza and Need for Speed announcement, Ubisoft’s trailer for The Crew shows a team of racers vying for

HOLY SHIT! IS THAT AN OFFROAD DODGE CHARGER!?!

It’s…it’s beautiful. The Crew will have you and your team vying for international turf control over other racing teams, and will have you doing a variety of heists, one of which involves ramming an armored truck into the bucklebrush and stealing its loot. Oh, and did we mention that it’s an online persistent world?

You’ll need to keep in contact with your team via game, social media and online, to retain your tenuous grasp over your territory.

The Crew is being designed for PS4 and Xbox ONE, and is due out next year.
